The county’s newest park officially opens in Spotsylvania. A ribbon cutting was held November 17, 2022, marking the opening of Keswick Park, nestled on 36-acres within the Keswick community development.
The park located at 7710 Folkstone Drive near the intersection of Lake Anna Parkway and Brock Road in the Spotsylvania Courthouse area, features two, small diamonds and two large rectangular soccer fields. Both have Bermuda grass surfaces with dedicated irrigation systems. The site also features a walking trail that runs along the perimeter of the athletic fields.
A tot playground adjoins a picnic shelter and there are two lighted tennis courts on the grounds, which are also marked for pickleball play. Additionally, the park has over 180 parking spaces that are lighted for evening use of the courts.
“We are excited about the opening of Keswick Park and what this means to our community,” says Kevin Brooks, Spotsylvania County Director of Parks and Recreation. “This is a beautiful park with amenities specifically requested by our residents, such as lighted tennis/pickleball courts and additional athletic fields in the perfect location that will provide increased access to recreational opportunities in the Courthouse area, as well as our entire community for many years to come. The developer, J Jarrell Properties did an outstanding job working through the design and construction process to ensure that this park is a good fit for our residents and meets their needs.”
The park’s hours of operation are dawn to dusk. Tennis/pickleball court lights will be available until 9 pm during the winter months. Bathroom accommodations are available upon rental use and sponsored events. For more information on field and court rentals please contact Recreation Manager, Brian Barnes at 540-507-7526.
Keswick Park was designed, constructed and donated as a proffer to Spotsylvania County by J Jarrell Properties, the developer of the new, master-planned, mixed-used development situated on 150+ acres in the historic Spotsylvania Courthouse district. The project consists of apartments, townhomes, age-restricted villas, and single-family residences.
