[ARCHIVED] 3rd Annual Spotsy Arts Festival Returns to Historic Courthouse

Spotsylvania is teaming up with JART, Inc., for the 3rd annual Spotsy Arts Festival on Saturday, August 14th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, August 15th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Bring the entire family and enjoy an array of art --everything from glassworks, to metal works, sculptures, paintings, jewelry and much more. Admission and parking are FREE.

During the second weekend of August, the grounds of the Historic Spotsylvania Courthouse, located at 9101 Courthouse Road, will be transformed into a massive outdoor art gallery for artists and artisans from all over the United States. This juried festival will feature original creations from pottery to paintings; jewelry to photography; woodworking to sculpture and much more by highly successful and skilled artists as well as the works of new and emerging local artists and artisans.

Register at the hospitality tent to win one of two $100 festival dollars gift cards. The drawing will be held at 1 p.m. and winners must be present to win. Use festival dollars for purchases from any of the artists & artisans.

The Courthouse lawn offers the perfect setting for an art festival. Large, shade trees add an element of elegance as well as produce gentle breezes to help cool hot, August days. Ample paved parking is available adjacent to the lawn, so just a short walk to the event from the Judicial Center parking lot.

JART, Inc., is a non-profit organization that supports artists and art groups by giving back to the community where profits are earned in the form of art and art-related activities. Spotsylvania County Public School’s arts programs will benefit from the group’s donation.  JART helps plan art-related activities and benefits.
