The Spotsylvania Community Engagement and Tourism Departments are proud to honor our servicemen and women by facilitating the Spotsylvania Hometown Heroes Program. This program is a community memorial to those who have served our country through the years. The Hometown Heroes Banners are paid for by sponsors who may be friends, family, community organizations, non-profits or businesses.

To be eligible the veteran:

- Served in either Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard, Coast Guard or Merchant Marine

- Was honorably discharged, currently serving, or died in combat

- Lived in Spotsylvania County at some point in their lifetime

Please submit a digital photo of your hero that is at least 300 dpi if scanned, but over 600 dpi is best. Or submit a photo with the application that is no larger than 10”x14”

The cost is $80 for a double-sided banner with a three-year life expectancy. Applications accepted through September 1, 2020. Business sponsorships will be listed on the Hometown Heroes page on VisitSpotsy.com.  You may also fill out an application online on the Hometown Heroes page.

Following three years of display, sponsors may contact the Tourism Office to claim banners. Unclaimed banners that are in acceptable condition may continue to be displayed.
