Spotsylvania County’s Department of Tourism and the developer of Spotsylvania Courthouse Village, Vakos Companies, will hold the 5th Annual Courthouse Village Food Truck Rodeo on Saturday, April 11, 2020 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Merchants Square (Address: 9019 Old Battlefield Boulevard, Spotsylvania, VA 22553). Merchants Square will be once again be filled with approximately 20+ food trucks and vendors offering a variety of cuisines for purchase. Plan on coming by early to enjoy the fun. Stop by for the opportunity to vote on your favorite vendor by 2:30 pm – vendors are judged based on customer choices, taking into consideration food quality, service and overall experience. A few non-food vendors will also be there offering merchandise for sale during the event.
Music by DJ Heav Ham and entertainment featuring a martial arts exhibition by J Tiger Martial Arts, demonstrations by Anytime Fitness and Spotsylvania Courthouse Ballet, as well as performances by The Spotsylvanians Chorus. There is no rescheduled RAIN DATE for the event. ADMISSION and PARKING are FREE. Limited tables and chairs will be available for seating, but attendees are also welcome to bring blankets and chairs to sit on the lawn. This is a “dog friendly” event for well-behaved, leashed dogs.
Contest award trophies are again being designed and created by local artisan Hunter Perkinson, a 1973 graduate of Spotsylvania High School who began his blacksmith career in 1990 after attending Bear Mountain Outdoor School in Hightown, Virginia. Since 1998, Hunter has been a member of the Central Virginia Blacksmith Guild and is the sole proprietor of Featherstone Forge. His artwork is displayed at LibertyTown Arts Workshop in downtown Fredericksburg and is available online at: http://www.featherstoneforge.com/about.html
