Spotsylvania County Department of Utilities will be performing sanitary sewer smoke testing to locate defects in the sanitary sewer system. During smoke testing, residents may see non-toxic smoke coming from vent stacks on houses or holes in the ground around sewer mains. Smoke should not enter your home unless you have defective plumbing or dry drain traps. If you have seldom-used drains, please pour water in the drains to fill the traps.
