Water conservation focuses on taking action to improve the effectiveness of water use through various means, either by changing our behaviors or by upgrading our fixtures and equipment. The ultimate goal of water conservation is not to prevent water use, but to maximize efficiency and the benefit from each gallon used.
Spotsylvania County Utilities has been authorized by the Board of Supervisors to establish a comprehensive Green Initiative and Water Conservation Program, under Chapter 22, Section 22-140 of the Spotsylvania County Code. Spotsylvania County Utilities Water Conservation Initiative is designed to promote smart water use and to provide resources for educating the consumer.
