The Personal Property office registers all motor vehicles and other personal property for local taxation and oversees the implementation of the Personal Property Tax Relief Act of 1998 and the Personal Property Tax Compliance Program, effective January 1, 2003.
Note: Please notify our office of any changes within 30 days.
"... However, a new personal property tax return shall be filed by the owner(s) of all such property within thirty days of the occurrence of any or all of the following:
A change in the situs of the personal property;
A change in the name or address of the owner(s) of the property;
The acquisition of one or more motor vehicles, trailers and/or boats for which no personal property tax return has been previously filed; or
Any other change affecting the assessment or levy of the personal property tax on motor vehicles, trailers or boats for which a tax return had been previously filed."
