Purpose
All businesses physically located in Spotsylvania County are required to file a zoning use application with the Community Development Department. This is to make sure that the business you want to conduct, from either your home or a commercial location, is allowed in your zone. This must be approved first before opening a business and the issuing of a County business license.
If you do not have a physical location, your home will be considered as your place of business (receiving phone calls/mail, keeping records, using a computer, etc.). A post office box can only be used for the mailing address.
