Treasurer

The Treasurer's Office collects, processes, deposits, and invests all County revenues. The Treasurer is a constitutional officer elected for a four-year term by general election. The Treasurer’s office prepares, mails, and collects all tax bills for real estate and personal property located in Spotsylvania County. 

The office is also the collection point for the majority of fees and taxes generated by or within the County, including water and sewer charges, business licenses, meals tax and local vehicle license fees. The Treasurer’s office prepares a daily cash report and balances all cash, tax receivables and County bank accounts on a monthly basis, and is responsible for all funds that are received, dispersed or invested.

The office is committed to accounting for all County funds accurately and timely to ensure the best return for the County. Staff members often act as a liaison between residents and other County departments.
