Public Notice to Spotsylvania County Voters

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, due to limited parking at Fire and Rescue Station 11, the Director of Elections requests relocating the polling place for Precinct 404 from its current location at Fire and Rescue Station 11 to New Post Church, which is located at 1900 New Post Boulevard, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22408. To effectuate that change, it is necessary to amend Chapter 7, Elections, Article III, Precincts and Polling Places, Division I, Generally, Section 7-66, to rename and relocate Precinct 404, currently Fire Rescue 11, to New Post Church, and to rename the Polling Place for Precinct 404 from Fire Rescue 11 to New Post Church; and to amend Division 2, Precinct Boundaries, Section 7-85, Lee Hill Election District, to amend the precinct name within the metes and bounds description from Fire Rescue 11 to New Post Church.

This proposed change will not take effect until after the November 7, 2023 general election.   For the November 7, 2023 election, impacted voters shall continue to utilize Fire Rescue 11 (404).

Opportunity for public comment and a public hearing are required by Virginia Code in order to relocate polling places and rename precincts. As such, prior to November 14, 2023, interested persons have the opportunity to submit data, views, and arguments in writing by mail 9104 Courthouse Road, Spotsylvania, VA, fax 540-507-7019, or email [email protected] or through an online public comment form (see link to the left).

The Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing at 5:45 p.m. on November 14, 2023, located at the Holbert Building, Board of Supervisors Board Room, 9104 Courthouse Road, Spotsylvania, Virginia 22553, to hear from interested persons and consider the proposed changes.
