The Thornburg Wastewater Treatment Plant is a 345,000 gallons per day extended aeration activated sludge facility that treats wastewater from the Thornburg collection system. The County is currently in the initial phases of upgrading the facility to handle future growth. Once completed, the new facility will be a state of the art Membrane Bioreactor (MBRs) wastewater treatment facility with a complete build-out capacity to treat 1.5 MGD.
