Salem District Supervisor Deborah H. Frazier began her first term in 2020, becoming the first African American to serve on the Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors. She was born in South Carolina, but has called Spotsylvania home for over 20 years. Dr. Frazier has been an educator for over 35 years and currently serves as the principal of Chancellor Middle School. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees at South Carolina State University. She also received a second Master of Arts degree from Furman University in Administration/Supervision, as well as a doctoral degree from Walden University. She is a wife, mother and grandmother, as well as a member of Sylvannah Baptist Church.
