Uncontested Divorces:
Uncontested divorces are divorces in which both parties agree to the divorce and have settled all matters between them. The free interactive online module at the Virginia Legal Aid website may help you prepare the necessary documents needed to file and obtain a divorce. Depending on the circumstances of your case you may or may not be eligible to use this program.
Contested Divorces:
Contested divorces are divorces in which both the parties do not agree to the divorce or have not settled all matters between them. If you have a divorce matter that is contested it is highly recommended that you seek guidance from a lawyer as the Clerk's Office cannot give legal advice.
Please note that this is not legal advice or representation,as the Clerk's Office is unable to give legal advice.
