Tourism and Special Events Commission
"Sharing Success" Program

The Spotsylvania County Courthouse Tourism and Special Events Commission presented its third annual "Black History Program" in recognition of the celebration of African-American History month. The program this year was entitled "Embracing Our Youth." This special event took place on Sunday, February 19, 2006, at the Marshall Center.  "Embracing Our Youth" is designed to share history, hobbies and memorabilia. Displays by Sandi Holland, Lee Broughton, Chancellor High School, Thornburg Middle School, Lee Hill Elementary School and the Snow Library were featured. In addition, the youth choirs and praise teams from Bethlehem Baptist Church, Second New Hope Baptist Church and Sylvannah Baptist Church performed during the program segment. There was also a performance by the Chancellor High School Step Team.
