Purpose: The committee shall advise the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors and assist in creating, reviewing, modifying, continuing or terminating Agricultural and Forestal districts within the County. In particular, the committee shall render expert advice as to the nature of farming and agricultural and forestal resources within the district and their relation to the entire County. |

Purpose: The Board of Zoning Appeals is a seven member public body appointed by the Circuit Court to hear and decide citizen applications requesting variances (waiver or modification) of the Spotsylvania County Zoning Ordinance, and appeals of administrative decisions in the administration and enforcement of the zoning code. |

Purpose: The Economic Development Authority was created by the Virginia Legislature to promote the diverse types of industry found in the County and Virginia and to encourage avenues of trade within our industries by inducing manufacturing, industrial, governmental and commercial enterprises and institutions of higher learning to remain in or to locate within our Commonwealth. The primary purpose of the EDA is to induce the issuance of Industrial Development Revenue Bonds. |

| Rappa Area Alcohol Safety Action Prog Policy Board | ||

Purpose: RAASAP is a criminal justice system that provides for assessment, intervention placement and monitoring for persons convicted of Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Boating Under the Influence (BUI), misdemeanor drug offenses, and habitual offenders. The program, funded entirely by client fees. RAASAP is certified by the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program Commission, operates autonomously, and is governed by a seven member Policy Board with representatives from each of the five jurisdictions it serves. The RAASAP Policy Board fiscal and policy for the operations of the Rappahannock Area Alcohol Safety Action Program (RAASAP). |

Purpose: Since 1970, the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board (RACSB) has provided public mental health, mental retardation, substance abuse problems, prevention, and early intervention services to the residents of Planning District 16. We do this through an integrated community-based system of care that is responsive to consumer needs and choices. We respect and promote the dignity, rights and full participation of individuals and their families. |
