Health Department

The Health Department provides preventative, protective and environmental health services.

The Rappahannock Area Health District is a cooperative effort between the State and the member localities, providing medical care services (including communicable disease, child health, maternal health, family planing and dental health services), public health services (including Medicaid nursing home screenings, vital records, community education, lead testing, etc.), and environmental health services (including health inspections of daycare centers, summer camps, restaurants, sanitary surveys, sewage treatment plants, and investigation of communicable diseases).
