Finance
The Finance Department operates in four functional areas with the following duties:

Accounting
- payment of invoices to suppliers of goods and services to the County; payroll for County employees; coordination of the annual County audit; management of the County's receivables; maintenance of the County's fixed asset report; and coordination, development and tracking of bond referendum packages, bond issue proceeds and debt payments.

Budget
- development of the County budget and Capital Improvements Plan (CIP); preparation of various financial reports for distribution to staff, administration and the Board of Supervisors; monitoring of County expenditures and revenues; preparation and maintenance of County budget information on the internet.

Procurement - coordination, review and processing of County purchases of equipment and supplies; preparation, review and issuance of bid specifications for supply, equipment and professional service contracts; and coordination of the delivery of goods.

Grants Writing - seek grant funding opportunities from federal, state, foundation and corporate giving programs; coordinate with County departments in the preparation, review and submission of grant applications; assist in the processing of grant award documentation; and monitoring of County compliance with financial and programmatic reporting requirements.
Finance Committee
The purpose of the Finance Committee is to review matters of a financial nature including proposed changes to fiscal/purchasing policies and the review and recommendation for matters of a financial nature coming forward to the Board including supplemental appropriations, transfers and contract awards.
Members consist of two Board members (Emmitt Marshall) and (Jerry Logan), Commissioner of Revenue (Deborah Williams), Treasurer (Larry Pritchett), Director of Finance (Tammy Petrie), and Deputy County Administrator (Ernie Pennington).
Meetings are held monthly on the Thursday between the Board of Supervisors' meetings, at 9:00 a.m., in the Marshall Center 2nd floor conference room.
