Fredericksburg Regional Council
Section 15.2-1309 – Code of Virginia
The purpose of the Council shall be to bring representatives of government, business, education and civic groups together as set forth in the Virginia Regional Competitiveness Act to formulate recommendations and take such action as required under the Act to address items concerning the region's economic competitiveness and to qualify for funding opportunities under the Act. Such items shall include, but may not be limited to, the preparation, adoption and maintenance of a Regional Strategic Plan to improve regional competitiveness, the preparation and implementation of a five-year action plan to address issues identified in the strategic plan, and the preparation of an annual report that complies with the Act.
The membership of the Council shall consist of individuals representing government, business, education, civic groups and other appropriate organizations. Such membership shall meet the intent and requirements of the Regional Competitiveness Act.
