Purpose:
Voter Registration Office registers all qualified voters within the County, maintains voter records, organizes and conducts voter registration drives and supervises primary, special and general election polling precincts for local, state and federal elections.

An appointed constitutional officer, the Registrar ensures that the opportunity to register and vote is available to all eligible residents. Managing efficient elections while protecting the integrity of the democratic process, the Registrar's office also compiles and maintains accurate voter records and election results. The Registrar conducts registration and elections as required by the Constitution, Code of Virginia and directives of the State Board of Elections.

Coming soon is the June 12, 2012 Republican Primary. Absentee voting begins April 27, 2012 - you can request an absentee ballot by submitting the absentee ballot application to our office by either mail, fax or email. Verify your Congressional District by checking your Voter ID card, or calling our office. 1st Congressional Sample Ballot and 7th Congressional Sample Ballot.
Our Presidential Election will be November 6, 2012. All polling places are open as usual, 6:00am until 7:00pm. Check our Facebook Page - Spotsylvania Votes - for updates and election information.

"Absentee Coordinator" - Christina Johnson: Accountable for all aspects of absentee voting, applications, processing, in-person and by mail, etc. Also supervises Campaign Finance reporting. Contact Christina at 540-507-7381 or cjohnson@spotsylvania.va.us.
"Election Official Coordinator" - Bessie Ann Morefield: Responsible for mailing/handling paperwork for all election officials, scheduling workers at precincts, etc. Contact Bessie at 540-507-7384 or bmorefield@spotsylvania.va.us.
