Football & Cheerleading 2013

Spotsylvania Parks and Recreation Department offers Football for ages 8 to 13 with weight limitations (see Age and Weight guidelines below) and Cheerleading for ages 5 - 14 to Spotsylvania County residents.  The registration period is June 10 - July 3, 2013.  November 1, 2013 is the age determination date.  The registration fee is $45.00.  (If registering in person at the Parks and Recreation office, we recommend that you have your child with you.  Your child is not officially registered for Football until an official weight is recorded in person at the Parks and Recreation office.  Participants who are not weighed by July 3, 2013, will be considered as a late registration and be required to pay an ADDITIONAL $10.00.)

For football, each player must be officially weighed-in at the Parks and Recreation Office.  If your child cannot be present during normal business hours of 8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday, the department's office at Loriella Park will be open Saturday, (TBD) 2013 from 8am to 11am and will remain open until 7pm on Wednesday, (TBD), 2013 for participants to be registered and/or weighed.

Online registration is available for Youth Football (on time registration only) and Cheerleading beginning on Monday, June 10.   No Age Waivers are allowed when registering online.  OFFICIAL WEIGH-IN REQUIRED AT PARKS AND RECREATION OFFICE FOR FOOTBALL - BY JULY 3, 2013 before 4:30pm.  Participants who are not weighed by deadline will be considered as a late registration and be required to pay an ADDITIONAL $10.00.

 REFUNDS - Those wishing to withdraw from the program before (TBD) must do so by contacting the Spotsylvania Parks and Recreation Department.  Individuals must follow up their verbal cancellation request with a written refund request.  A 20% administrative fee will be charged on all refunds.  There will be no refunds given to those who withdraw after (TBD).

Age and Weight Guidelines for Football:

 

Pee Wee League	Ages 8 and 9	90 lbs. and under
Junior League	Age 8	91 - 135 lbs.
	Age 9	91 - 115 lbs.
	Ages 10 and 11	110 lbs. and under
Senior League	Age 9	116 - 140 lbs.
	Ages 10 and 11	111 - 140 lbs.
	Ages 12 and 13	135 lbs. and under

Age Waiver- The Age Waiver allows you to request to have your child play up one age group for sports. This does not apply to all programs. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Office at 507-7529 for additional information. (NOT ALLOWED FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION)

EQUIPMENT RETURNS - All Football Equipment, helmet -stickers must be removed, pads, and cheerleading uniform along with pom pom's, must be returned promptly to the Spotsylvania Parks and Recreation Department located in Loriella Park at the end of the Football / Cheerleading Season. Football Players may keep their jerseys. Failure to return equipment will result in the child being ineligible to participate in any other Parks and Recreation activity.
