The Emergency Communications Center (ECC) is a unit within the Professional Standards Division (PSD).  The ECC is staffed twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year.  The ECC is responsible to answer all 9-1-1 calls for the County, as well as some administrative numbers for the Sheriff’s Office.  The ECC provides dispatch services for the Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Services, as well as the Chancellor Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department and the Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

The Criminal Warrants function of the Sheriff’s Office is a component of the Emergency Communications Center (ECC).  The criminal warrants function operates twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year.  This function is responsible to receive, enter, and remove criminal warrants from the internal records management system as well as the Virginia Crime Information Network and National Crime Information Center as required by law.
