Spotsylvania County Parks and Recreation offers Youth Basketball. Our program offers boys and girls leagues open to youth age 6 to 17 years old for Spotsylvania County residents. The registration period for Basketball is October 5 - 28, 2015. The age determination date is July 31, 2015. A Birth Certificate is required at the time of registration, unless one is already on file with the Spotsylvania Parks and Recreation Department. The registration fee is $45.00 per person. Online registration is available beginning the first day of registration. A household waiver must be completed and on file at the Parks and Recreation office prior to registering online. (Household Waivers can take up to 3 business days for processing. No Household Waivers are processed on the last day of on time registration.)

Developmental - Age 6 (co-ed) Beginner Skills-Instruction Only - Children age 6 by December 1, 2015 can register for Developmental Basketball. An Age Waiver Form must be submitted along with the registration form.
Practices will be held weekday evenings and Saturdays during the month of December. League games will be played weekday evenings and Saturdays beginning in January at various locations throughout the County. The program, including playoffs, will conclude in March. The Developemental Program (instructional-age 6) program will begin in December with team meetings on Saturdays.
The registration fee is $45. Make your check payable to "Treasurer, Spotsylvania County". There will be a $50 service charge on all returned checks. To register your child, complete the registration form and return it by mail or in person with the fee and a copy of the child's birth certificate (if one is not already on file with us) to the Parks and Recreation Department. A drop box is located at Loriella Park at the park office. The drop box is open 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. - Dusk. DO NOT return forms to the schools. WE CANNOT REGISTER YOUR CHILD UNTIL A BIRTH CERTIFICATE IS SUBMITTED. (***A 2.95% Non-Refundable Convenience Fee will be charged on all credit/debit card transactions.)
Late Registration: Postmarks will not be considered. Late registrations may be accepted if there is space in the league. All participants that register after 4:30 p.m. on the deadline day or any day after the deadline, must pay $45.00 registration fee + $10.00 late fee (Total $55.00).
Individuals wishing to withdraw and/or requesting a refund must do so by contacting the Spotsylvania Parks and Recreation Department. Individuals must follow up their verbal cancellation request with a written refund request and submit it to Spotsylvania Parks and Recreation Department prior to team placements. A 20% administrative fee will be charged on all refunds. There will be no refunds given to those who withdraw after teams have been formed. (If payment is made by credit/debit card, the 2.95% Convenience Fee will not be refunded.)
All transfers must be made in person prior to the start of practices and/or games. A transfer request form must be filled out and signed before a transfer can be made. Transferred registrants may be placed on a waiting list if there is no space available. A $5.00 fee will be charged for each transfer.
Age Waiver Form
The Age Waiver Form allows you to request to have your child play up one age group for sports, you cannot complete the transaction online. (Not available for online registrations.) A $5.00 fee will be charged if Age Waiver is not submitted at the time of registration. For more information concerning this, please contact our office at 507-7529.
Cancellations due to inclement weather can be heard by calling our cancellation line at 898-8546 and/or sign up for alerts to be received through e-mails, text messages, or your pager at www.spotsyalert.com . Cancellations will be available as soon as a decision is made to cancel. Please listen to the message carefully. If weather conditions are questionable and you do not hear or receive a cancellation announcement, you should report for your game.
